I’ve lived in BC all my life, growing up in Vancouver, and then living in Abbotsford, Mission, Mackenzie, Williams Lake and Big Lake before retiring in Keremeos in 2002.

My husband and I took our first trip to Mexico in 1992, and fell in love with the country and the people and since then have traveled extensively in Mexico during the winter months.  I wanted to be able to interact with the people so began my ongoing quest to become fluent in Spanish, taking courses, reading books and trying to converse whenever possible.

I realized how difficult it is to do even the most basic things like shopping when you don’t speak the language so when I saw an ad in the Review asking for people interested in teaching English to Spanish speaking agricultural workers I could relate to their situation and I wanted to help.  I met Sandy Diaz who continues to inspire me and have been teaching English with her guidance for the last 3 years.

It’s an honor to have the opportunity to meet and work with so many wonderful people and I look forward to being able to help wherever I can.
